TRAIN

Our Barbell program is 3 or 5 days per week with expert coaches and a community of like-minded individuals pushing each other to be their best. Here we teach people how to move the barbell safely and efficiently, regardless of age, gender, or athletic background. Beginners can get 1-on-1 coaching when they join via our On-Ramp program, and intermediate and advanced lifters can start on the program right away! Our coaches are passionate about Olympic weightlifting and dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced lifter, we'll help you perfect your technique and reach new levels of strength.

Our gym is accessible 24/7, allowing you to get your lift in whenever you need it, day or night.

COMPETE

BG Powerhouse routinely hosts USAW-sanctioned weightlifting meets throughout the year and we love helping to grow the sport of weightlifting in the state of Kentucky. As the field of sporting events gets more competitive, we continually add more features to our competitions to make them the most enjoyable and worthwhile weightlifting meets you’ll find in the region.

The Movements:

Snatch

In the snatch, the lifter takes a wide grip and, in one continuous motion, lifts the bar from the floor to overhead. The Snatch is one of the most explosive and athletic movements in all of sports. 

Clean & Jerk

In the clean, the lifter takes a medium grip and, in one continuous motion, lifts the bar from the floor to the shoulders. In the Jerk the lifter drives the bar from the shoulders to overhead in one quick, explosive motion.
