Injury Prevention Seminar - Upper Body
Session One in our Injury Prevention Series will be focused on the upper body. This series is for everyone! Athletes and desk jockeys alike! We will discuss common injuries from fingers and wrists to neck, pecs and lats. Our goal in the series is to make sure you know how to assess and address your movement so that we can AVOID injury, missed training sessions, and hopefully even surgery!
Brief schedule:
Discussion of participants’ current pains or history of injuries relevant to the series
Where are you now: prehab or rehab
Tension vs. position and developing better Mobility
When/why/how to stretch
Understanding of the nervous system: Compensation, tightness, weakness, and the importance of the NS in prehab/rehab
Threshold training
Understanding grip and its role in big ranges of motion (ROM)
Understanding torque chains and how to train them appropriately
Building a training program for the future you
Yes, there will be a lecture so bring a pen and paper! We will also assess and be hands-on to make sure you walk away with a good understanding of YOUR body and individual needs. Share with your friends and come join us to start a healthier journey!
